Yannik Peters and Katrin Weller have published a study on the role of data quality in the Digital Services Act in the journal Platforms & Society. The open access article analyzes the DSA, the Delegated Regulation on data access, and the public feedback submitted to the European Commission. The results show that data quality plays little to no role in the official EU documents, while academic stakeholders raised data quality concerns in the public consultations. The authors argue that data quality should feature more prominently in the debate on DSA data access. The study also underlines the need for independent institutions that assess platform data quality and provide sustainable infrastructures for research. This is precisely where RIDLOP comes in.
